Embed carbon & energy analysis
Run CAALA’s energy-efficiency and sustainability analysis on building designs directly from your own product or pipeline.
Insight API
Integrate CAALA's analysis, simulation and optimization engine into your tools. Programmatic access to energy efficiency, sustainability and detailed Whole-Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA) for building designs.
The CAALA Insight API exposes the analysis, simulation and optimization tools behind CAALA Software so you can build them into your own workflows.
Run CAALA’s energy-efficiency and sustainability analysis on building designs directly from your own product or pipeline.
Generate detailed Whole-Life Carbon Assessments programmatically, with no manual re-entry and a consistent methodology every time.
Simulate and optimize variants to compare options for energy and sustainability performance across many projects.
Versioned routes, Bearer authentication, predictable rate limits and a clear error model. All documented in the API reference.
CAALA’s analysis already supports project developers, asset managers, architects and consultants, from early design and QNG funding to renovation roadmaps. The API lets you put that analysis inside your own product or workflow.
Project developers · Architects
For climate-neutral project development.
Compare a worst case, the current design and a best case on operational and embodied CO₂, measured against the QNG limits, early while changes are still cheap.
Embed variant comparison in your feasibility, design or configurator tool.
Project developers · Architects · Energy consultants
To know early whether a design qualifies.
Check a design against the QNG-Plus and QNG-Premium limits for greenhouse gas emissions and primary energy demand, with operational and embodied emissions shown separately and a clear pass or fail per limit.
Show QNG conformity live in your design or feasibility tool, so teams can adjust before the design is locked in.
Project developers · Energy consultants
To secure funding for climate-friendly new buildings.
Provide the QNG proof for greenhouse gases and primary energy over the life cycle. It is built from your planning documents (an IFC file where available), the thermal insulation proof and a component catalog, and ends in finished documentation for the QNG seal.
Make the QNG proof a repeatable step in your funding or certification workflow: submit the project data, receive the documentation.
Consultants · Architects · Engineers
For sound reporting and certifications.
Produce whole-life carbon results you can stand behind, and export them into the reports and certification workflows you already use.
Automate WLCA inside your reporting pipeline instead of re-entering data by hand.
Asset managers · Portfolio owners
To protect the value of your portfolio.
Make CO₂ exposure visible across your buildings before it becomes a question of asset value.
Feed CO₂ results into your portfolio reporting, benchmarking and investment tools.
Asset managers · Consultants
For a sound decarbonization strategy.
Test up to three renovation variants per building, technically and economically. See the effect on consumption, emissions and stranding point, with costs, BEG funding and CO₂ avoidance cost per measure package, and a climate protection roadmap based on CRREM.
Power renovation planning and roadmap tools from three years of consumption data, existing plans and basic building data.
Published reference projects show how teams use CAALA in practice.
Tell us what you’re building and we’ll show you how the API fits.
A credible, well-documented production API for teams embedding building performance and carbon analysis into their own platforms.
A production API with versioned routes, a health endpoint, and predictable rate limiting.
Bearer-token auth with short-lived session tokens. GDPR posture and data residency available on request.
Details on requestVersioned routes (/v1), so integrations don’t break unexpectedly.
Direct access to the CAALA team for technical evaluation and integration support.
Details on requestA fully managed data backend for enterprise customers. CAALA’s managed services and your own CAALA users feed your tenant data in CAALA’s data lake. Managed APIs let you query all of it and feed your own dashboards, SAP and other ERP systems.
Query the complete dataset of your tenant, not just single projects or reports.
Connect internal dashboards, SAP and other ERP software without building your own data pipeline.
CAALA runs the data backend, so your teams spend their time on dashboards and decisions, not on infrastructure.
Planning for it? Talk to us about your data needs.

Open OpenAPI JSONAuthentication is a two-step flow: exchange a CAALA-issued access key for a session token, then call the API with a Bearer token.
Access keys are issued by CAALA, and there is no public self-service signup yet.
POST the key to /v1/auth/access-keys/exchange-key to receive a short-lived session JWT.
Send Authorization: Bearer <sessionJwt> on every authenticated request.
# Step 1: exchange your access key (10–124 chars) for a session token
curl -X POST https://api.caala.de/v1/auth/access-keys/exchange-key \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{ "accessKey": "<your-access-key>" }'
# → { "keyId": "...", "sessionJwt": "..." }
# Step 2: call an authenticated endpoint
curl https://api.caala.de/v1/... \
-H "Authorization: Bearer <sessionJwt>" import requests
BASE = "https://api.caala.de"
# Step 1: exchange the access key for a session token
auth = requests.post(
f"{BASE}/v1/auth/access-keys/exchange-key",
json={"accessKey": "<your-access-key>"},
timeout=30,
)
auth.raise_for_status()
# NOTE: confirm JSON casing (sessionJwt) against the live spec before shipping.
token = auth.json()["sessionJwt"]
# Step 2: call the API with the Bearer token
response = requests.get(
f"{BASE}/v1/...",
headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {token}"},
timeout=30,
) using System.Net.Http.Json;
var http = new HttpClient { BaseAddress = new Uri("https://api.caala.de/") };
// Step 1: exchange the access key for a session token
var auth = await http.PostAsJsonAsync(
"v1/auth/access-keys/exchange-key",
new { accessKey = "<your-access-key>" });
auth.EnsureSuccessStatusCode();
// NOTE: confirm JSON casing (sessionJwt) against the live spec before shipping.
var token = await auth.Content.ReadFromJsonAsync<ExchangeResponse>();
// Step 2: call the API with the Bearer token
http.DefaultRequestHeaders.Authorization =
new("Bearer", token!.SessionJwt);
var response = await http.GetAsync("v1/...");

Access keys are issued by CAALA, and there is no public self-service signup today. Request one via the contact page and the team will get you set up.
Two steps: POST your access key to /v1/auth/access-keys/exchange-key to get a short-lived session token, then send Authorization: Bearer <sessionJwt> on authenticated requests.
Fixed one-minute windows: 100 requests/min on public endpoints and 50 requests/min on strict endpoints. Exceeding the limit returns 429 immediately, and requests are not queued.
To be confirmed. Ask the CAALA team about test access keys and a sandbox environment for evaluation.
